Starbuck v2.0
Starbuck is my external hard drive. I LoVE her very much. She used to be 120GB, but recently I upgraded her to 320GB… and boy is 320GB heavenly. Starbuck is now a SATA drive (though I can’t really notice the difference). She’s also silver since I got her this aluminum enclosure.
The enclosure works well so far and it’s pretty darn cheap for a SATA enclosure (under $20 total with google checkout!), but let me read you some excerpts from the oh so helpful manual:
- “Whopping the product properly. You must click the “safly remove hardware” icon” (on describing how to remove the hard drive safely)
- “… when you whop the device …” (yes, just in case i hadto ‘whop’ the device)
- “… then u can whop the USBcable from the USB port.” (do i REALLY wanna do this??)
- “… if u whop it without stopping it …” (dot dot dot)
don’t ask. i don’t even know.
this next one has threatening tone to it:
“You’d better connect the Hi-speed device to the Hi-speed USB2.0 port.”
wonder what they’ll do if i don’t?
“And then there appeared a direction telling that the USB Mass storage device can now be safely remved”
sounds like an excerpt from the Book of Genesis.
let’s just say kat and i got a pretty good laugh from reading this manual yesterday.
lll kittykat lll: hey
lll kittykat lll: if i whop the drive without safly removing it
lll kittykat lll: is that bad?
ic h a B u N ni: AHHAHA
lll kittykat lll: because for some reason it won’t let me whop the drive
lll kittykat lll: i’m serious
ic h a B u N ni: its not too bad
ic h a B u N ni: but what does it say?
lll kittykat lll: it says that it cannot be stopped right now
lll kittykat lll: try whopping it later
let me end this entry by saying that i spent a good hour or so arranging everything and renaming all my TV show collection so they have the right naming pattern, and the correct episode title. and if you know how many shows I have, you’d be impressed too!
