It's very comforting when

you read news like this when you’ve just got back from having chicken for lunch [/sarc]

the place i ate lunch at was unusually crowded this afternoon. halfway through my meal, a stranger came over to my table as there were no other seats left and i was taking over a four seat table all to myself. we ended up in regular conversation and exchanged information in the end. things like this, very rare in big cities like los angeles. it wasn’t anything special but i’m glad i decided to put down that book i was reading for ten minutes. a very refreshing experience in the midst of my now monotone life.

in other news, Marley & Me is a touching book. I’m not too crazy for the author’s writing style (kinda got that feeling he tried too hard to be funny sometimes), but in the end he did share irreplaceable precious experiences with his Labrador retriever, Marley. i went through the last couple chapters with tears in my eyes
