finishing up HP6
After putting it away for almost a month (was busy), i finally read a whole bunch this weekend and i am down to the very last two chapters of Deathly Hallows. that means i read over 300++ pages between today and yesterday! :O that is such an accomplishment for me because i get very easily distracted and because of that i read slow. i practically spent the whole day reading today!
anyways, it was pretty weird reading the UK version. for one, they changed the cover and are a lot more compact in size. i would have liked that a lot better because then i can bring it wherever i like. the US version is really huge in comparison! and then, they spell some stuff differently like realise, organisation, etc. i would have been confused if nico didn’t warn me (i was reading his copy that he bought in europe)
nothing spoilery but just in case:
chapter 34 killed me. it ALMOST made me cry and these days i don’t seem to cry at anything anymore (… badass! :D). i was so depressed at the last few chapters that i decided to stop reading despite having only two more chapters to go. it’s a weird feeling. i’m really dreading finishing the book, yet at the same time i’m DYING to find out how everything is going to end. it’s safe to say that’s how everyone feels about this book.
oh the boy who lived… how i will miss you
update: so i finally finished the last two chapters during my lunch break. i downloaded the PDF somewhere off the net (pretty good quality i must say). i’m sad that it’s over… i’ve been reading harry potter back since i was super fobby (even fobbier than i am now) and in ESL, and then all through out college. i’ll be waiting for the movies for sure.
AND talk about good timing. a couple weeks ago i put a hold on two of Haruki Murakami’s books (The Wind-up Bird Chronicle and The Elephant Vanishes) at the library. usually they email me when it’s ready to pick up, but this time they didn’t and i forgot about it. today i checked my account and apparently the books have been ready and the deadline to pick it up is today! i’m a little pissed that they didn’t email me. good thing i checked though.
btw, Haruki Murakami is the author of my favorite short story.
