Excel and VBA

i have a new found respect for Microsoft Excel. apparently you can do a bunch of crazy stuff in it that i wasn’t aware of! i spent a couple hours yesterday programming a macro for Excel in VBA. it was pretty boring but once i learned how to make things colorful it became fun! the actual ‘programming’ itself was frustrating. it’s been awhile since i programmed in a language i know nothing about (thank you, Google).

anyways, for some reason the process reminded me of the MATLAB projects i had to do for my CS 170A class. that’s the class that i failed the midterm (like seriously. i got a 36/100 and the average was 50), barely understood the labs, half assed the hw (it was hard) and yet ended up with a B+. still quite a mystery to me! i never found out how i did on the final, i worked very hard on it, but i didn’t think i did that well. i was even praying for a C so i don’t have to repeat that class! the lecture was soooo boring and the prof always turns off the light for his power point slide so we can see it better, but really all that does is put me to sleep within five minutes. oh the pinnacle of my UCLA studies…
