Girls can't do science?

Date: Sunday, December 9, 2007 Categories: food, kismet

This article surprises me. i’ve always thought science is a girl-field while engineering is a boy-field. i guess i’m just too used to hanging out with my sorority… but then again i’ve met maybe 2-3 guys who majors in science as opposed to a billion girls who does.

to quote the article

“Why do people think girls can’t do science?” Dr. Hopkins said yesterday. “Where did this crazy idea ever come from?”

exactly.

anyways, i had a nice birthday :) on Friday kat took me out to Palomino to celebrate with her boyfriend. i got the salmon dish, which was yummmyyyy, he got the steak and she got filet mignon. she also got me an amazon gift card to help with my DS funding. so nice of her ^^ <3. now i’m that much closer to getting a DS… except they’re all sold out online -_-.

on Saturday (yesterday) Nico picked me up and gave me my gift, which is something that i mentioned in passing awhile ago while chatting online… and he remembered! i was very happy ^^ and then he took me out to Cheesecake Factory and got the same exact things we got the other night when he met my parents. we had a kick ass waiter too, who was very attentive despite the place being so crowded. she also wrote “happy birthday to you!” with chocolate syrup on the rims of our dessert plates because she didn’t wanna embarrass me too much but still wanted to say happy birthday. Nico was teasing me about getting everyone to sing for me.. and i hit him. HARD :)

with that said, i’m 23 now. so olddddd~~ i say that every year. i’m thankful i was able to share it with the two closest people in my life, who made me feel super special.
