Food Pictures

I haven’t been taking pics of food lately… despite eating out quite frequently. remember the days when i used to take pics of EVERYTHING i eat? i even have a facebook album dedicated to food.

Anyways, this one is Oyakodon from somewhere in sawtelle. I was out to lunch with some of my friends one day. The dish is called Oyakodon because it’s basically chicken and egg over rice. Oya means “parent” and ko means “child”… so, chicken and egg, parent and child… that’s the story. a bit morbid isn’t it? :D i’m not too fond of this dish, to be honest. it’s a bit sweet and bland. the miso soup on the side tasted better.

This one is a cute mini ice cream cone from Souplantation with Nico.

After stuffing my face with food, i told Nico i wanted to get the ice cream. the conversation went like this when we got to the ice cream machine:

N: okay, let’s see who can get the TALLEST ice cream!! ready?? *pours ice cream sloppily on his cone*
me: okay!! *pours ice cream like a pro*
N: ……. i’mmmm not playing anymore *walks away*

I told him when I lived in the dorms during my UCLA days, i used to get ice cream from those machines almost every single meal. the key is to push up and spiral the ice cream as you go! :P
