Running

There is something liberating about running.
I started a regimen of running every other day starting last week. my usual route is to circle twice about three blocks of residential area in 30 mins. according to google maps, one round is about a mile so i run 2 miles a day! i know it’s not the most precise measurement, but still… i’m excited!!
my thigh muscles really hurt yesterday so i thought running was going to be a bitch, but it was actually a lot easier than before. i learned to not breathe through my mouth and that made all the difference. usually the reason i stop is because my chest and the back of my throat hurt from the cold air that i breathe in. last night i didn’t have that problem. i kept running until i was actually tired, and before i know it i ran twice more than before.
Still, there is something liberating about running, about surpassing your limits and pushing yourself to become better. stretching feels really good after running. showering after running also makes me feel extra refreshed. i almost can’t believe i didn’t do this sooner. next week, i’ll increase my route to 2.5 miles. how exciting :)!
