The World Ends With You
So i started playing this game yesterday. well… i really started on the day it came out (two days ago), but i got busy and didn’t have time to really play till yesterday. I got to day 4 earlier today, then i played again during lunch hour and now I’m on the beginning of day 6 with Shiki (my partner).
It’s pretty fun so far and very different from other Square’s RPGs that I’ve played before. It’s definitely no Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts. for starters, it’s set on present day Shibuya and uses actual real-life places in Japan (like the statue of Hachiko!) instead of a made-up world. then, instead of weapons and armors, you use brand name clothing, stickers and your cellphone. the only things that are out of the norm in the game is psyches and pins, which you use in battles like magic and skills on other games. the concept of the story itself is pretty abstract but very engaging. the gameplay was confusing at first but you pretty much can pick it up right away provided you take the time to read the instructions.
anyway, i got a killer migraine last night. i went to sleep really early at 10PM in hope to “sleep it off” but i woke up at around 5AM this morning, and the pain was still there if not stronger. i got myself up to take advil, then forced me back to sleep but woke up about an hour later with the same headache and took another advil (even though i wasn’t supposed to). it’s like this throbbing pain on the left side of my head right around/on top of my left eyeball. i HATE that kinda dull pain especially when it involves my eyeballs. so i tried sleeping again and wasn’t going to get up.. but i woke up at 930AM feeling better. i ended up getting out of the apt at 11, then i felt a bit crappy again. when lunch time came around i spent it playing The World Ends With You… and i felt fine again! weird. i guess playing games helped me. good thing i didn’t have to skip work though, cause i already left early on tuesday due to cramps similar to the one i got when i went to Disneyland in october…
i’m usually not this sickly i swear! :(
