Hem Job

Date: Saturday, June 14, 2008 Categories: girly

OMG i can finally wear my white crystal crowns! i got this pair about six months ago, but has been too lazy to hem. there is no way i can wear it as it was… it had a 35″ inseam. even after hemming it to wear with heels, they are at 32″ inseam -_- i am so SHORT!!

i’ve never really sewn before so it took me a long while to do this by hands and needles (sewing machine scares me). it was like 1.5 hours for one leg!!! i used this method called the “euro hem” because i wanted to keep the original hem… so i folded it inside instead of cutting it. this is also why i didn’t go to a tailor.. this type of hem would have costed at least $15-20 per pair.

anyway, the result was satisfactory i think… i just wish i had used a navy blue thread instead of black, but you can’t tell in person :D

top is the original, bottom is the hemmed. there are three inches difference.

yeah, a bit messy but oh well… i tried

where i folded the extra fabric. should i cut it off? i feel so wasteful!

happily hemmed! actually, i found out i should have cut off an extra 1/4th inch. it’s grazing the floor right now even when i wear my highest heels -_-
