Clear Care Solutions

my friend Anna mentioned Clear Care contact lens solution a couple weeks ago when we were talking about circle lenses. what the hell are circle lenses you ask? they are these color lenses that are wildly popular among asian girls… supposedly it makes your eyes bigger by enlarging the pupils and making them more defined. i bought two recently in blue and grey but i haven’t gotten them yet! :D i already have one in violet, but i bought it two years ago. in retrospect i don’t know what i was thinking because they make me look pretty weird.

anyway, i digress. what i really want to talk about is the Clear Care solution. i was intrigued because Anna mentioned that the solution BUBBLES when it is cleaning the contacts. so, when i happened to be at CVS last week with Kat, i grabbed a 12 fl oz solution package to give it a try.

… and they do work wonders! it was pretty incredible. i was so amused by the bubbling action that i cleaned my lenses twice in a row. the bubbles were actually produced by a reaction from the mystery disc that’s on the bottom of the case when it is neutralizing the hydrogen peroxide solution into plain ol’ non-harmful saline within 6 hours. after i cleaned the lenses, they really feel like they were brand new! i’m absolutely addicted to cleaning the lenses and watching it bubble and fizzle like soda :). supposedly the hydrogen peroxide really breaks down the protein accumulated on your lenses after they have been worn.
