Nyquil knocks me out
I’ve been sick lately and drinking nyquil like its water. i was out sick on tuesday, where i practically slept the entire day and night. all i know is i took some nyquil at 10am then everything became blurry and before i knew it, it was 4pm and my whole day was gone! i dreamt something about x-files where i was apparently Scully (yes, that’s right, i wasn’t even myself in the dream) and hiding from werewolves in some creepy graveyard. that’s the kind of crazy dreams i get when i’m sick and on some sort of medication.
other than that, time passes by like crazy. tomorrow is friday ALREADY?! say it ain’t so. i mean i’m glad it’s the weekend and all, but really… where did time go? i almost can’t believe it’s the last quarter of 2008… then i’m going to be 24 years old and OLD. but it’s okay because my favorite time of the year is coming up: CHRISTMAS! :)
oh yeah, something exciting did happen. about a week or so ago (on September 3rd to be exact) i was featured on smashing magazine. i know i’ve mentioned that i was featured back in April, but that was by proxy – they featured an article that was featuring me. this time, i was featured directly! that made me really excited because i found it on accident while reading the article (i’m subscribed to their RSS feed). i really really need to clean up that site though… i’ve been tossing around a couple ideas in my head for a new layout, but motivation just hasn’t hit me yet. but be patient, because once i’m motivated i know i can conjure up amazing stuff :) or at least one that isn’t half-assed…
anyway, the surge of traffic allowed me to play around with google’s adsense. i had been fascinated by the idea of people making a living out of displaying ads, so i started putting adsense on mine. it’s been about 5 days and i’m still a bit hazy on how exactly they determine your earnings. on each days i had about the same amount of visitors and the same amount of clicks, but different earnings. i guess i have to keep in mind that i couldn’t do as much optimization as other sites as the content of my site is static and i don’t want to compromise my layout and direct visitor attention to the ads. it’s only an experiment after all.
okay that’s all for now. i just downed another dose of nyquil. time to sleep :D
