Simpang Asia

let me share you my favorite place to go for indonesian food: Simpang Asia. in my opinion, they are as close as you can get to an authentic indonesian food without actually being there. so, if you’re ever curious about indonesian food, you should give this place a try :)

Nasi KuningTumeric Yellow Rice Combo. Combination of an aromatic steamed yellow rice served w/ kalasan fried chicken, balado egg, perkedel, tasty potato and peanut. (i’m actually not sure what tumeric is. i have a vague idea what it is… i think. it’s the herb that gives the rice its yellow color. really hard to get the stain off your clothes if it ever got there)

Kwe Tiau Goreng SapiStir fry flat rice noodle w/ beef, fresh bean sprout yu choy. (i think this is more chinese than indonesian, but it’s just a bit sweeter than most chinese food tend to be)

then i went to the ROse Bowl for UCLA vs Arizona game with Nico chan (we have season ticket!), where we lost… again. it’s all good. i still had fun just being at the game. Nico also bought me a blue and gold beads but i didn’t get a picture of it…

i’m wearing blue circle lenses here :)

grabbed a six pack of these.. i didn’t realize it was BABY coronas! it’s called coronita! how cute is that?!
