Old friends
wow, i just came back from catching up with two of my girl friends from wayyyy the hell back in 8th – 9th grade. that was quite a trip down the memory lane. we hadn’t seen each other for 10 years, but they didn’t change! among all the major changes i’ve seen in Jakarta, it’s nice to see something familiar, finally…
now i understand what people mean when they say they got together with old friends and talk about who’s married and this and that. it DOES make me feel old! i learned that a few friends is married, some with kids, some about to get married, some has moved out of the country… 10 years passed by like nothing, but damn, a lot happened!
anyway, it’s reassuring to know that i do still have connection to this country. it makes me more optimistic and less detached :)
