Google Chrome!

Date: Friday, April 3, 2009 Categories: design, nerdom

I was well aware that google released they own browser awhile ago, and even gave it a spin for a couple days when it first came out… but i guess i never tried it on my own laptop because i didn’t know how beautiful they look on vista!! i only found out from this article of Smashing Magazine. thanks Mark!

Google Chrome

it was pretty much love at first sight. LOVE the button, the simplicity of the tabs & menus, the way it works with Vista’s aero theme… everything! sadly, i quickly discovered they don’t seem to support PNG transparency yet :( i can’t live seeing these imperfect jaggedy images on the net!

anyway, can’t wait until google chrome reaches perfection. i’ll be the first to download it.

while trying to find out what the hell it is that smashing magazine author uses (at first i thought it was firefox with some sort of custom theme) i came across an FF theme that somewhat simulates the look and feel of chrome. it’s called Chromifox, and that’s what i’m using on my FF!

  • ICHA! You changed your blog layout, yay :D I feel like I’m in the clouds, it’s so peaceful and soft. <3

Chrome is great, though it has its share of issues. I don’t know if it’s png transparency so much as Chrome hasn’t implemented anti-aliasing … haha. Sucks :( But FF has been acting like a bitch on me, so I’ve made Chrome my default … for now. Ha.
