Birthday Lunch

Went to Kemang area with relatives to celebrate one of my cousin’s birthday. The area was packed with expats! i felt like I was in Bali again

My aunt picked me up from Kuningan to this place called Garage Gourmet. I loved the decoration! they made use of these wine bottles as lamp shade. i would imagine they look really good at night time when they are actually lit up!

Food was pretty yummy, though expensive by Indonesian standard (~$6.50 for this Classic American Hamburger!). I guess we were at an expat-dominated area. The fries were quite good but the burger itself was just alright. the patty was nothing to write home about and the bun was blah, but i might be biased since i generally do not like burger buns anyway. I’m just glad to find fries that are (almost) up to par with american fries, even when i prefer my fries fat (wedge fries) with the skin still on it.

Afterwards, we parted ways with my cousin and went out with my aunt to this place called Plaza Semanggi, where I bought a new bag. Finally! my current one has been with me since 2007, although it barely show signs of wear. Kathy Van Zeeland makes sturdy high quality bags! :)

anyway, that’s my sister modeling my new bag. it was a no-name brand found in a random clothing store, but the material was soft and seems sturdy enough. plus i’ve been wanting to have one of those bags that can be slung over your shoulder or carried in your hands. I actually saw this red version first and later found the purple one. it was hard to decide between the two, but my sister talked me into choosing the purple one since red is pretty bright and wouldn’t match most things i wear.

and with that my weekend is over :( that was sO not enough… i need more!! thankfully we do get wednesday off due to election, even if only a day. i’m praying for safety before and after election. i SO do not want to go through May 1998 again.
