Waroeng Ethnic @ Bandung

Date: Sunday, November 8, 2009 Categories: food

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to go to the soft opening of the new night time hours of Waroeng Ethnic.

In the past, the place has always been open from 8AM – 6PM, serving traditional yummy Indonesian cuisine. Recently due to high demands, they have expanded their hours to night time with european kitchen menu available from 5 – 11PM, hence the soft opening :)

Always the cute and elegant decor…

If you wonder why this place doesn’t look like any regular restaurant… well it’s because, the place WAS a house! they converted the patio, bedrooms and living room to a restaurant, so it gives that authentic homely atmosphere that no other restaurant has..

Okay I’m horrible for not remembering the full dishes names >_< this one above is Rosti with grilled chicken and melted cheese on top. Oh so good and so flavorful!

I cannot for the love of me remember what this is.. it’s grilled white fish with mushroom and chips. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside :9

My dish! Beef tenderloin with mushroom sauce. OMG this was really good! I think i’ve mentioned a couple times that it is so hard to find western food in Indonesia that taste good at a decent price.. well, this is my answer!

Then the dessert…

Don’t exactly remember what this is, but it has “Chantilly” as part of the name and taste like it has a hint of rum and baileys in it. so good that I devoured the whole thing even when i was already full…

Fried ice cream.. yummy dessert and it goes well with the chocolate sauce, but I still prefer the chantilly!

Shared a plate of Caesar salad with my mom while chatting after dinner. Yeah, we ate a LOT that night..

Anyway, if you are ever in Bandung area, I would highly recommend this place! the soft opening promotion for european kitchen runs from November 4th – 11th, 2009 with 20% discount on food, open daily from 5pm – 11pm (they still open at regular day time hours with Indonesian cuisine).

  • Ha, I ate food this morning before looking at your blog – and WHAT did you know?! FOOD post! These dishes look delicious. Do not worry about not knowing the full names of the plates, it makes it like a scavenger hunt for those individuals who go to this restaurant – they will have to find what pictures you posted. =D

Is this restaurant on the list of placing I am going to? *bats eyes
