New Life?

Date: Sunday, November 15, 2009 Categories: photos

Oh man.. I’ve had a long day today, but so much has happened since my last post that I think I should probably update NOW before everything piles up too much…

Anyway, so I’ve moved to Singapore last Sunday, for work. My employment pass was very suddenly approved earlier this month (we were told it would take a lot longer) so for the first two weeks of November I was scrambling trying to arrange my move. I found and apartment, booked tickets, took care of my visa and packed up my things in just a little over a week. it was nuts!

So this is the view from my window looking at the central business district part of Singapore.

Singapore has been yet another unique experience in my life. I just can’t get over how easy it is to get around here and how clean and organized everything is. After spending 9 months in Jakarta, I feel like a bird being let out from its cage…

Anyway, a few days ago after finishing some errands, I visited Orchard Rd and found these neat things in front of ION, one of their newer shopping malls.

A huge christmas tree!!! reminds me of the ones I saw in NYC last year with N :D

You can walk inside the christmas tree and there would be all these pretty decorations. It looked a lot better and brighter in person. My camera just couldn’t capture it very well.

freebies from work. postcards depicting the growth of the french HQ, a 2GB USB, a moleskine-like notepad and a messenger bag (not pictured, since I forgot)

My favorite part is the USB key! you know i’m already a sucker for these things, but the design for this USB is just so nice (especially compared to the usual plastic case ones)… plus I love the fiery red color.

So yeah.. quite a big move on my part. I’ve been talking about living in Singapore for so long, but I didn’t think it would actually happen. It still feels so surreal even now. I’ve been blessed to encounter so many good people that has helped me get to this point in life. I will have to work very hard and learn a lot (and fast!), but that’s what we ALL have to do right? :D everyone at my work place is so experienced and crazy talented.. i don’t want to be left behind!

  • You are just as talented as your co-workers, if not more so, you just don’t realize it.

Congrats on your endeavors! You should be proud of yourself.
