Mini Culinary Adventure at ION Orchard
While at Orchard a few days ago, I made sure to stop by the famous Tsukiji Gindaco takoyaki in their food court. I went with my friend Elyse before, and she introduced me to this place saying that it’s the best authentic takoyaki from Japan!
You can read all about their story here. Sure enough, the place was packed and there were a pretty long line to get your hands on these. I waited about 10 mins in line, but I got the batch that is fresh off the pan!
Their counter is wrapped in this clear glass window where you can watch the cooks as they make the delicious takoyaki. Here are the octopus legs being put into the pan.

when the top batter is half cooked, they start to use their little tools to poke, flip and shape the takoyaki balls.
add some more oil and continue to fry, fry, fry until they are done!

put some bonito flakes, kewpie mayo and their special sauce… and it’s ready to be eaten =) I got the 6pcs box without drinks, so the total came out to SGD 4.80.
the inside is so moist and yummy! loveeeee it :D
Since I wasn’t full yet after eating about three of the takoyaki (guess I was very hungry that day), I decided to have another meal. Tori Q caught my eyes. They sell all kinds of Japanese satay (mostly chicken and pork)
The process of how they grill their satay. the satays are being put into these machinery where they are slowly being grilled as they pass through. don’t worry, that’s not oil.. it’s their sauce. after dipping into the sauce, they go through the same cycle a couple more times until cooked.

Yum! ordered the combo with 2 chicken, 1 chicken ball and 1 chicken with green pepper. all quite yummy!
for SGD 5.20, I think these are quite cheap!

That last pick looks really yummy. First I was going to comment on how I didn’t get hungry to your food pic slide show, but now I am salivating at the food. =9
