Jones the Grocer, Dempsey Hill
This entry is a back log from about three weeks ago, when my cousin visited from Australia (as mentioned on previous entry).
Anyway, my cousin’s friend took us to a place called Dempsey Hill for lunch one day.

It was such a nice change for me as I’ve been spending all of my time in the central part of Singapore, so all i’ve been seeing is the concrete jungle part of Singapore. It’s nice to know that there are another part of Singapore that are more calm and home-y.

a unique looking Ben & Jerry’s. was going to visit after brunch but we were pretty stuffed.

Christmas cookies ornament!

They took me to this australian grocery place called Jones the Grocer, which is.. well, a grocery store that also doubles as a small restaurant.

My brunch. I forgot what they’re called really, but it’s obviously asparagus + poached egg with hollandaise sauce and smoked salmon on some sort of bread (I forgot what.. sourdough maybe)… oh and some capers and lots of ground pepper for me :)
Anyway, it was a nice place to visit and get groceries that you probably can’t get anywhere else. I think the food was just alright although at that point I had been eating chicken rice everyday so it was a welcomed break =P

yummmmy raspberry cheesecake! this is at Orchard Rd though, not Dempsey Hills.
