2009 in review

Been doing this for the past two years, so I’m keeping the tradition alive!

For me, 2009 has been a sucky year. the ongoing theme was definitely “change” and not in the obama kind of way.

In January, I moved back to Asia (more specifically Jakarta) after spending close to 10 years in California. I’ve never really talked about it aside of with my close friends or within the confinement of my private journal, but it was a very tough change for me.

Then, as if moving halfway across the globe and leaving some of my closest friends behind wasn’t enough to do for one year, in November i moved again to Singapore. This time I moved all by myself and I didn’t really know anybody there, which I thought wouldn’t be a problem since I had always been somewhat self-sufficient. Well, to put it simply, I wasn’t as strong as I had thought, but I AM blessed to have wonderful friends to keep my sanity and to meet amazing characters that helped me along the way.

January

Met up with relatives i hadn’t seen for close to 14 years!! they live in Hongkong and rarely comes back.

February

Took a week trip to bali to watch my brother play golf, but also did some touristy things while i’m there

March

Visited Singapore! fell in love with the country and decided i’ll do whatever it takes to move there. This is the white tigers from the zoo:

Met up with friends from Junior High. they haven’t changed :)

April

Met another relatives I hadn’t seen in close to 10 years.

May

Started working for a golf tournament that takes place in July. This is taken outside of the building where I sometimes work from:

June

Celebrated my sister’s birthday at pepenero!

Caught my brother on tv some time this month. it was a tournament that took place in March.

July

The golf tournament took place. That’s basically what we were busy with all month long. Here’s me setting up a power point presentation that was made the night before…

Finally tournament day comes. one of the craziest, most fun week ever! I lost about 4kg that week alone…

August

Went to Malaysia to watch my brother play again :)

Also took a trip back to my mom and dad’s hometown, Cirebon

September

Started looking for jobs in Singapore, so I flew there twice. Changi Airport is one of my favorites :)

Then took a trip to Macau! SO MUCH FUN! i’d like to go again some day

October

Still in Jakarta, waiting around for my employment pass to be approved. It was “Lebaran” time in indonesia, and Jakarta was pretty much deserted. so me and a couple friends took this chance to explore the city around since there were no traffic!
