Let it be known to the world that i’ve decided to officially embark on a new mission: to try every different brunch places in Singapore. At a minimum $25 per visit, they aren’t cheap, no, but how can one resist brunch? Besides I realistically only have time for brunch on weekends, and I can afford to splurge on one or two brunches per week. To show you how serious I am about this, i’ve even created a new category called Brunch :P
Anyway…
So this weekend I met up with an old friend, Will, over brunch at Food For Thought. It’s conveniently located at the Singapore Art Museum on Queen street, right next to Brash Basah MRT. I arrived earlier than the agreed time since I overshot the time to get to Bras Basah, but FFT’s staff were nice enough to seat me as I wait even though it was pretty much full house. I didn’t even make any reservation!

I’m loving the big, airy and naturally lit space of this restaurant. Also the black and white decor and the suspended jars are to die for!!
As their tag “Good food for good cause” implies, FFT donates a portion of their profit to charity… though i’m not sure how much and their website didn’t really help me get this info. At the very least they do encourage people to give donation and raise awareness of social issues around the world through the quotes/info pasted on their placemats and all over the wall.

Also loving the bold art direction of their menu and place mats.

We both had the Full Works (S$18) – Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Garlic Mushrooms, Chunky Chicken Sausage, Hash Brown, Toasted Brioche with Roasted Tomato Salad.
It was HUGE and so yummy and in hindsight we should have probably shared it since the both of us couldn’t finish the plate (which makes me feel so guilty with all the quotes pasted about world hunger…). It was definitely a western portion meal. I also wanted to try their much lauded pancakes but I sadly didn’t have any more stomach space after this!
I also ordered an iced mocha with my meal, which came in a TALL glass and was creamy delicious and is probably the reason why i won’t be sleeping today. It was worth the money at S$5.50.
Would I come back? OF COURSE! But after I try other brunch places to complete my mission :)
(Thanks Will for buying me brunch!)
