In any case, I’ll switch my goal this year to something more realistic… blog at least once a week! Since my blackberry has wordpress apps now, I should be able to blog more often :)

I also want to bring your attention to the big earthquake in Haiti, as I’m sure most of you are already aware. Haitian need our help now, more than ever. The next time you are out buying something that isn’t of absolute necessity, consider donating it instead (Try asking yourself: do you really need a new pair of shoes? do you really have to choose that pricier entree at dinner? Or that calorie-ridden starbucks coffee?). My favorite place to donate is Global Giving (link is on the sidebar), but of course you can choose other charities as well.

i mostly keep my opinion to myself (or at least off this blog) regarding the current world on goings, but like everyone else this news hit me like a bullet train and left me dazed. i woke up around 6:15AM this morning, 4:15PM Los Angeles time. usually i spend my mornings waiting for my mommy to fix me breakfast and keeping up with world news that might have happened when i was asleep. this morning my usual outlet – the internet was down so i turned to TV. while browsing channels to find CNN, i saw a ticker bar on some other random news channel saying that the King of Pop has passed away. i couldn’t believe it at first, so i kept clicking until i found CNN and that’s when i was finally convinced. RIP, MJ.

needless to say we were glued to TV for the entire morning. also caught a few glimpse of westwood and UCLA medical, where I used to live… I miss LA!

my favorite song of his is “Heal The World”. reminds me of my childhood. i was about 7-8 years old when this song came out.

anyway, i am off to watch the news for this historic moment and you should too! moments like this is something that will go down in history and will be talked about for years to come. i just feel so privileged to be able to witness this first hand.

btw, Obama lived in Jakarta for four years as a kid. I lived in Jakarta for about four years too before i moved to the states! i just thought that was pretty amusing ;)
