After a full day of eating on Day 1, we headed to the ultimate tourist paradise in Singapore: Sentosa Island! We got to Sentosa from the island through the monorail at Vivo City. First stop: The newly opened Universal Studios.
At first I wasn’t so excited about going since we’re both from LA and had gone to the actual Universal Studios there, but once I stepped inside the park I couldn’t hide my excitement anymore… YAY we’re in universal studios!

It’s inevitable. when i start working, this blog (and pretty much life outside of work) immediately takes the back seat. but… that’s what happens when you’re passionate about your job, right?
In any case, a good friend from high school came to visit last weekend! he had just (finally) finished dental school last month. the last time i saw him was when he interviewed for UCLA dental school, which means it has been four years since we last saw each other. but doesn’t matter, we picked right back up from where we left off. i forgot how it feels like to be with someone you’ve known for ten plus years. no pretense, just as we are.
it was a TON of fun introducing him to Singapore, and oh, all the food we had! First stop after picking him up at changi was to Orchard. He wanted to experience the “Singapore” meal, so I took him to the food court at the basement of Ion. yeah I know that’s touristy still, but we (I) was hungry! He got his first chicken rice and a taste of Singlish, while I got charsiew rice.
My Charsiew Rice. It was quite yummy! The pork was crispy

This trip is from about two months ago (early May).
excited to finally be on the boat ride to Pulau Ubin!
Bye bye mainland Singapore!
We rented our bikes for about $12 each, for the whole day. Bring insect spray as I got eaten alive by mosquitos! Thankfully Parissa brought some with her, or else I don’t know how I would last…

Evidently, THESE FISHES WILL EAT ANYTHING!!!
This week after working through the weekend and lots of overtime, I went off to Bangkok for work! I didn’t have time to be excited because I was very busy, but once I got there it finally hit me that I was in Thailand for the first time ever! :D
Anyway, the first two days was spent inside Novotel Bangna as we were working. We literally didn’t take a single step out of the hotel and ate hotel food for each meals.
On thursday we finally had some time to go explore the city. This was taken at Siam Square, where we got massages!
Speaking of massages, I’m very fond of Thai massage. Some parts were just down right painful (but in a good way), and tickled so bad that I was silently praying for it to be over, but over all it was very good! I had my body folded in ways I didn’t know could be folded and had my back cracked in places I didn’t know could be cracked. The masseuse says I was pretty flexible compared to normal people though.
Anyway, I had three massages in the span of two days. it was lovely

I went to Macau last week for a little over a week. This time I learned my lesson and brought my SLR :) yayyy! I took a LOT of pictures with my SLR on the first couple days, but it did get a bit too tiring to bring it along every single day, so i stopped after about 3 days :X

So I had been busy at work and haven’t had a weekend since maybe mid-July. A vacation was badly needed by the end of it all.
We’ve been talking about taking off to Malaysia since my brother had a tournament there that week but for awhile I wasn’t sure if I could afford to since work was still wrapping up after the golf tournament. However, one day my sister was looking up tickets to Malaysia and… she accidentally booked us a round trip. So I guess that pretty much seals the deal and we were off to Malaysia for five days! :D
